Grok Transcription Support in Update 9
With the release of Update 9, 3CX will integrate transcription support from Grok. This new provider offers significantly lower pricing compared to alternatives such as Google and OpenAI, making AI-powered transcription more accessible for businesses.
As part of this shift, 3CX will discontinue active promotion of the ENT+ edition. The decision reflects changing market conditions, where third-party AI providers now deliver more cost-effective solutions.
Customers will be able to use Grok transcription in the same way as existing integrations, ensuring flexibility and seamless operation within the 3CX system.
Focus on Third-Party AI and Self-Hosted Solutions
3CX is strengthening its support for third-party AI providers while continuing development of its own self-hosted AI solution.
The upcoming improvements to self-hosted AI aim to simplify installation and enhance usability, while maintaining a key benefit: data privacy and full control over sensitive information.
New Edition Naming Structure
To better reflect functionality, 3CX is renaming its editions:
- Basic – Core PBX features
- PRO – Advanced call handling and reporting
- AI (formerly Enterprise) – Includes AI and transcription features
The updated naming removes confusion around the term “Enterprise” and clearly highlights which plan includes AI capabilities.
Changes for Existing ENT+ Customers
Customers currently using ENT+ cloud transcription can continue using the service without interruption.
However, those who recently purchased ENT+ (16SC licenses) and wish to request a refund are advised to contact customer support.
NFR ENT+ subscriptions will also be gradually phased out and replaced with the new AI Edition.

3CX has updated its pricing structure to align with these changes.
As part of the Q2 spring promotion, customers can receive:
- Up to 30% discount on upgrades, renewals, and new licenses
- Options for multi-year plans to secure long-term pricing
